The Story of the Christmas Rooster
Once upon a time way before X bots, legos, barbie dolls, hot wheels and all the other toys so prevalent in these modern Christmases, and when people lived mostly in rural or semi rural settings Santa Claus had a favorite gift for all really, really good little boys and girls. Now you must realize this gift was only for special children. Those children had to have the kindness of heart, compassion, and love for all living creatures. Santa's challenge to himself was to come up with a gift such a child could care for and relate to. Santa determined the gift must be a living animal not an inanimate, lifeless hunk of wood or metal. And besides Santa knew an animal could move without batteries which had not been invented yet. Santa knew many children were allergic to cats so they were out of the loop. Dogs were eliminated because there were simply too many breeds of dogs to choose from. Then one morning as Santa was lying in bed he heard a rooster crow outside his window telling him it was time to get up. Well, that settled that. Santa decide the special gift for special children would be a rooster. After all roosters are brightly colored, make excellent alarm clocks for children who are not so lazy that they stay in bed all day, and can be taught by a really hard working child to use a litter box. Santa also determined that by raising a rooster a child would learn responsibility.
So please be aware that if you visit in a home that does not have a Christmas Rooster that home has been deemed unworthy in the eyes of Santa Claus. And you can pretty well determine that the children in that home are little turds.
